Aircalin

“Caledonian tuna is one of the best in the world” all Japanese will tell you that. However, securing the loyalty of these customers and offering fresh tuna is becoming a real challenge. Indeed, the growth of the inner Caledonian market and the continuous depreciation of the yen had discouraged tuna exporters. Almost two years later, after that assessment and the signing between Aircalin and ERPA ( Agricultural Price Regulation Service) of an agreement enabling a boosting of tuna export, expected results are met; 100 tonnes of fresh tuna have been exported to Japan in 2007, and 2008 forecasts expect that volume to be doubled. It is sure that if Japanese customers knew the efforts put in by New Caledonia to allow them to enjoy quality fresh tuna, they would find their sushis even more tasty.
